As my time in Costa Rica is coming to an end, I don’t want to be sad. I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to see and experience this beautiful country.
Costa Rica has blown me away with its beauty, friendliness and hospitality. From the pristine beaches, to the untouched rainforests this country has most certainly gained a new fan! 😃

Ait Benhaddou is a historic ksar or ighrem (fortified village) along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakesh in Morocco. It is considered a great example of Moroccan earthen clay architecture and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.
The ksar is located on the slopes of a hill next to the Ounila River (Asif Ounila). The village's buildings are grouped together within a defensive wall that includes corner towers and a gate. They include dwellings of various size ranging from modest houses to tall structures with towers. Some of the buildings are decorated in their upper parts with geometric motifs.
A large number of movies and TV shows have used this historic site including:
Lawrence of Arabia (1962), The Mummy (1999), Gladiator (2000) and Game of Thrones.

Dades Valley is a series of rugged gorges carved by the Dades River. The river starts its journey in the high Atlas Mountains.
The multi coloured limestone walls of the gorges range from 200 to 500 meters and today it’s an extremely popular place for hiking and trekking.
I had an absolute blast hiking through the valley and it was one of my favourite activities of the trip. I highly recommend starting early, as the Moroccan sunshine soon gets going and it becomes really hot. We hiked for about 4hrs and it was so much fun.

Marrakesh is the 4th largest city in Morocco and makes up one of four imperial cities of Morocco. (Historical Capitals).
Marrakesh was founded in 1070 as the imperial capital of the Almoravid Empire. After its decline the city was surpassed by Fez. But, Marrakesh bounced back and is now one of the most visited cities in not just Morocco but in Africa.
Marrakesh comprises an old fortified city packed to the rafters with vendors and stalls. This Medina Quarter in the old town is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and attracts thousands of tourists each year. Getting lost in the medina is an absolute MUST!
The city is also close to the Atlas Mountains and provides access to the entire Atlas region.

Please try some of the street food in the medina, you will not be disappointed! I highly recommend trying a traditional Tagine, a mint tea, couscous and medfouna.

Firstly, I would to say a massive shout out to the most wonderful group of people I meet while in Morocco. I also want to say I was blown away at how beautiful Morocco is.
It was my first time in Morocco, in fact first time in Northern Africa and I had a complete blast! There is more to come of course with a bit more detail on each place we visited and all the normal tips. But for now, finally I can share some of the best bits.

DID YOU KNOW? Tea is a staple in Morocco. Mint Tea is the national drink of Morocco and serving it is an art form.
The mint tea is typically served in small glasses on a silver tray with traditional Moroccan tea glasses (like in the picture) the tea is prepared by steeping fresh green tea leaves with fresh mint and lots of sugar. The result is a sweet, fragrant drink with a strong mint taste.

Tintagel Castle in North Cornwall is a brilliant place to explore.
This castle has long been associated with the legend of King Arthur. It’s thought that Arthur was conceived on this very site at the hands of magic by an unknown magician at the time called, Merlin. It’s believed Merlin disguised King Uther Pendragon to look like Gorlois, Duke of Cornwall.
It became a tourist destination and a place many King Arthur fans make there way too. The castle is currently owned by William, Prince of Wales but managed by English Heritage.
It’s a lovely place to visit. There are toilets, little shop and cafe onsite. The pathways can be steep, they are also uneven so be aware. The highlight is certainly walking across the entrance bridge and the views looking out across the ocean.
